The first three decades of the 20th century were
marked by a building boom for small single-family houses. The
growing popularity of the automobile created the nation's first
suburbs, and mandated affordable housing near the city. This
petite English house, with its flared eaves, stucco and brick
exterior, steeply pitched roof, and recessed entry is
reminiscent of the homes from this era.
Our revised edition has a foyer and exceptionally spacious great
room. The adjacent dining room has a pair of built-in cabinets
to provide storage for serving pieces, collectibles, and
cookbooks. One enters the house from the rear through the
garage, and steps onto a covered side porch before entering the
house; this porch could be glassed-in for a computer/study area,
if desired. Additional living space can be gained by completing
a bonus room over the garage, if desired. Note the many closets
and two outside storage areas.
